Yang Ah Kang began as a little furniture workshop in 1946 in Pasir Panjang servicing the British Forces as our main client.
Our first hotel client was Goodwood Park. As we created a reputation for excellent service and quality, growth in the 50s became rapid for us. In the years to come, York Hotel, Hyatt, The Shangri-la, and the Grand Old Dame, Raffles Hotel was added to the list.
In 1992, a factory in Sungei Kadut was set up to meet with increasing demand and growth in the industry. A year after that, our China factory was established as a full fledged subsidiary of YAK Singapore and was positioned to undertake major projects in Suzhou and Shanghai with strategic alliances formed in Chedun-Songjiang District.
YAK began gaining trajectory by the mid 90s to make headways into Japan, New Zealand, London, Dubai and in USA for our custom made furniture.
